Entwicklungs- und Klimatag

klimatag

On June 6th, Germanwatch held a conference (in cooperation with different partners, among others the VENRO Project “Prospects for Africa – Europe´s Policies” entitled: “Survival at stake? What is needed in Copenhagen for the most vulnerable?”

The next round of the UN climate negotiations took place from the 1st to the 12th of June; this round was of central importance as preparation for the climate conference in Copenhagen, in December 2009. The previous negotiations have shown that a long road still stands before us to a Copenhagen agreement that can help avert dangerous climate change. In particular, too little attention is given to the perspective of those people particularly at risk from climate change.

The event picked up on this deficit in the negotiations and, with creative actions and substantive debates, give new dynamic to the course of the negotiations.

Both took place on the 6th of June, in the middle of the climate negotiations.
